Music and nature are keys to managing and regulating our current world : the harp is unique in this capacity.
Hi, I’m Ali. As a qualified Healthcare Musician ( Harp therapist), Secondary Teacher ( VIT ) and trauma informed Meditation Teacher, I am dedicated to using live harp music support mindfulness, creativity and wellbeing in schools, hospitals and community settings. Working with children check (WCC), VIT registration, First Aid, Mental First Aid, Public Liability Insurance and ABN are all current.
The harp is uniquely suited to helping students regulate and connect with the world. Inspired by my studies in music as therapy, I have developed structured, live harp sessions that support self regulation, mindfulness and creativity - especially needed post COVID. With years of experience teaching English, Philosophy and Music, I aim to make a meaningful difference in schools and other settings. ( See ‘About’ page for further details)
Comments from my recent workshop day at Strathcona Girls’ School:
Danielle Cooper Head of English:
‘Ali’s workshops were a captivating highlight of our Literature Week celbrations. With the gentle, meditative sounds of the harp setting the tone, Year 9 English and Eal students were immersed in a unique creative writing experience. Ali skilfully guided them to explore their emotions and thoughts, encouraging free, expressive writing aligned with the V2 English Curriculum’s ‘Creating Texts’ outcomes. Clear links were also made to the cross curricular priority areas and student ‘personal and social’ standards. The workshops offered students a rare opportunity to write with authenticity and freedom, leaving a lasting impression on both their creativity and confidence.’

Further Testimonials
“I loved the creative writing workshop as part of the Festival of Stories. The harps were stunning, Alison was so down to earth and I loved having the time to write with this inspirational music as prompts for different aspects of writing.”
Kate, Writing Workshop Participant ( Festival)
“Thanks Ali for running the successful mindfulness and meditation sessions for our Year level as part of our Wellbeing Day. We all loved the sound of the harp - it is mesmerising! The drawing activities that you combined with each segment of mindfulness focus and the active meditation activities really engaged the students. Look forward to having you in again.” Allison, Wellbeing Day ( School)
“Thanks for running a session for us, Alison. We all felt so refreshed afterwards - the sound of the harp is like a massage for your brain. The guided meditation taking us into the forest was so calming, I didn’t want it to end!” Naomi, Mindfulness Meditation Session (Wellness Centre)
